Hot Rod's Affair of the Heart, CGC--Libby (2/14/96 - 4/3/06)
AM/CA CH Legacy's Knobel Knight, CD, CGC, TT--Dexter (5/5/94 - 12/17/04)
Toshwood's A Safe Haven--Lyka (? - 6/13/05)
Blackrocks Friar Tuck, TT--Tucker (7/7/98 - )
We were blessed to have these four sharing our home for many many years.
We bought Dexter, Libby & Tucker as puppies and Lyka joined us later in life.
Dexter was our first child and very much loved. After a couple of years we realized he was lonely
and brought home a little sister for him. Libby ended up being the mother of everyone in the house,
but for the first few months, she was Dexter's own little baby.
Tucker came along a couple of years later and fit right into the mix.

The infamous puppy butt shot
We thought it would be fun to show Dexter and hired Ken Wall who did an awesome job
He put 7 points on him prior to moving out of state
My favorite Dexter show shot
Winning a 3-point major at his first show at 14 months
Thanks to Arthur Favors for his other major
I was able to finish Dexter myself
Getting his last five points and his Canadian Championship

Shortly after moving to Florida
Dexter won Best Veteran
at The Gulfstream Rottweiler Club Specialty
Lyka joined us a few months Dexter's big win as a "foster child."
The Gulfstream Rottweiler Club has a wonderful rescue program called Gulfstream Guardian Angels.
They asked if I was interested in fostering someone and I readily agreed.
We picked Lyka up at the Miami Animal Shelter.
I have to say that I was shocked at what I found.
She could not stand up on her own and had been so malnourished (apparently having numerous litters)
that her bottom canines had grooves in them from where her tongue rested.
She was with us for a week or so when we started getting calls for a forever home.
I told Tom I thought we had a new home for her; it was then he informed me she was already in her forever home.
She spent 4 wonderful years adding joy to our lives (and we to hers I hope!)

Libby & Lyka doing what they did best! COUCH!

Dexter's last Christmas card shot a week before we lost him
And with his favorite blue ball in the yard
Three days after we put Lyka down our newest bundle of joy, Presley, was born.
Presley came home in August and proceeded to give Libby (now 9 1/2) the run around.
He managed to drag her around by her bandanna for the majority of the day.
She, as always, was more than happy to take care of the baby.
When she turned ten, Libby was also diagnosed with bone cancer and we lost her shortly after.
Presley at 9 weeks helping Libby enjoy the hot tub
We are now down to 2! The house seems a bit quieter, but we sure miss our old gang.
The pool doesn't get quite the work out with the girls gone.
They would spend hours in the hot tub diving under water to bite the jets.
Tucker will still swim for hours if you'll throw his ball, but Presley wants nothing to do with the pool.

Of course Tucker is just fine with this arrangement. More pool for him!

Who says you can't get four dogs to pose for a picture??
Well, let's try again

And being especially good for Granny's Birthday card shot
From our life in Rochester, NY

I've always loved this shot of Dexter in the Cemetery
And as a kid with his first favorite ball
Libby and Dexter checking out the new brick barbecue
We entered this shot in a calendar contest and got the cover!
Notice Libby in the background--never far from her buddy
Dexter contemplating life
Ohhhh The Puppy Shots!
Tom wants me to set up a survey and have people pick their favorite puppy
He will always stand by his decision that Libby was the cutest
How could you choose??

Libby Tucker Presley

Dexter Dexter asleep in his water dish
Tucker fit right in with the already tight twosome
But it was clear from day one who the mastermind was going to be
Princess Libby ran the show

I had this Roger Pidney Davidson portrait done of her for Tom
And below is the portrait we had done of Dexter
We sure miss the old gang, but Tucker still reminds us of the good old days
and Presley is a breath of fresh air. We are looking
forward to doing some obedience now that he has finished his
championship and hopefully some therapy work as well.
For the summer he is just keeping his brother Tucker occupied!
And posing for greeting cards!
